Adasewase youth educated on HIV/AIDS prevention

Akim Adasewase (E/R), Jan. 17, GNA – Mr Kofi Brakohiapa, an educationist, has stated that pre-marital sex among the youth was the main cause of the spread of HIV/AIDS and urged them to eschew the practice.

He expressed regret that despite the intense public awareness education on the dangers of the disease and how to prevent its spread, many people were still showing a “care free” attitude towards unprotected sex.

Mr Brakohiapa, who is also the Kwahu South District Guidance and Counselling Co-ordinator, was delivering a health talk to youth organizations in the Atiwa District at Adasewase, near Kwabeng on Saturday.

He cautioned the youth that HIV/AIDS was real and that they should avoid unguarded sexual tendencies.

He also stressed the need for communities to periodically embark on clean-up exercises to rid their environmental of preventable diseases.
