Adansihene is dead

Obuasi, Sept 13, GNA – Nana Ofori Agyemang II, the Adansihene and President of Adansi Traditional Council is dead. The 69-year-old chief died on July 15 after a short illness.

Nana Assiama Guahyia Abiabo, the acting President of the council, announced this at a crowded traditional council meeting at Fomena in the Adansi North District on Monday.

Nana Ofori Agyemang’s installation in June 1997 ended a protracted chieftaincy dispute that rocked the Adansi following the destoolment of Nana Kwantwi Barimah II.

Nana Assiama Guahyia said a number of committees would be formed to plan the burial of the chief whose vision ensured the development of Adansi.
