New Edubiase (Ash), Sept. 7, GNA – The Adansi South District Health Insurance Scheme (HIS) has spent over 724 million cedis on its members as hospital claims since it started operations in August last year. Mr Richmond Sarkodie, the District NHIS Manager, who disclosed this in an interview with the GNA at New Edubiase, said about 62,932 people has registered with the scheme with a premium of over 300 million cedis paid by the registered members.

He said 7,500 identity cards had been issued to its members who visit the eight health facilities working with the scheme in the Region apart from all the government hospitals in the country. Mr Sarkodie commended the residents in the District for their high patronage and promised that the scheme would team up with the health facility to provide them with quality healthcare. He appealed to those who have not as yet registered with the scheme to do so to enable them to get quality healthcare.
