Adansi South DCE Inaugurates More Projects

Mr. Benjamin Anhwere, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Adansi South, has assured teachers in the district of the government’s commitment towards improving the well-being of teachers, especially those working in the rural areas, so that they would give off their best for the benefit of the nation.

Speaking at the commissioning of a GH¢65,000 teachers’ bungalow at Annorkrom, the DCE stressed, “Government is committed to improving the welfare of teachers, in order to attain quality education for the nation’s future adults.”

The DCE appealed to parents to be keen on the education of their wards, while urging them to play their supervisory roles effectively, as well as providing other materials which government is not to able to provide for smooth learning. He, however, appealed to the teachers to work in unison with other stakeholders and the government to improve quality education in the area.

He called for collaborative efforts from all stakeholders to complement the government’s efforts at raising the standard of education across the country At Asarekrom, where he also commissioned a three-unit classroom block, office and a store, estimated at GH¢85,000, the DCE appealed to parents to give priority to their children’s education.

The District Chief Executive also cut the sod for the construction of a three-unit classroom room block at Avornyokrom. The facility, when completed, would replace an old structure, which serves as classroom block for the community.

The Chief of Avornyokrom, Nana Yaw Badu, expressed concern about the involvement of minors in galamsey (illegal mining) activities in the area, and appealed to the DCE to help arrest the situation.

He thanked the DCE for coming to the aid of the community, and hoped the completion of the new school block would improve enrollment at the school. Nana Yaw Badu also appealed to the DCE and his entourage to address the poor road network within the area.

The DCE was accompanied by the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. Ernest Kofi Yakah.
