Adansi South Constituency of NDC elects Chairman

New Edubiase (Ash), Oct.18, GNA – Mr Festus Addai, Adansi South Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has pledged to reorganize the party to ensure the party retained the seat in 2008.

He said in spite of all the strategies that would be adopted by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to wrestle the seat from the NDC, they would not succeed.

Mr Addai, 42, Managing Director of Fesage Enterprise, a building construction company at New Edubiase, made the pledge after his election at the Constituency delegates’ congress at New Edubiase at the weekend. Mr John Pine Swatson was elected, First Vice-Chairman, Mr Yevenyo Ziggah, Second Vice-Chairman, Mr Alhassan Dickson, Secretary and Mr Philip Mensah Assistant Secretary. Mr Ramos Yao Heduvor, Organiser, Mr Alhassan Musah Deputy Constituency Organizer, Madam Elizabeth Nkansah, Women’s Organizer and Madam Mary Essel, Treasurer.

Mr Addai called on all supporters of the NDC who defected to the NPP to return to their fold to rebuild the party in the Constituency. He pledged to team up with the past executives to strengthen unity within the party.

Addai said a Council of Elders of the party within the Constituency would be formed to enable the youth tap their rich experiences.

Mr Emmanuel Nti-Fordjour, Ashanti Regional NDC Chairman, advised the supporters of the party, to sacrifice their resources to bring the party back to power in 2008. He attributed the high rate of armed robberies, rape and immoral acts in the country, to the policies of the NPP that had failed Ghanaians and must be replaced in 2008.
