Adansi North draws five-year development plan on HIV/AIDS

Fomena (Ash), Jan 8, GNA – The Adansi North District Assembly has held a stakeholders meeting during which a five-year development plan was drawn to help check the spread of HIV/AIDS in the district. Mr Peter Kwabena Ameyaw, the District Chief Executive, said the plan would be submitted to the Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC) based on which proposals would be made to solicit funds for the plan’s implementation.

Speaking at an HIV/AIDS forum at Fomena, Mr Ameyaw said it was the intention of the assembly to have a baseline record on which it could build its development agenda regarding the number of affected people. Mr Ameyaw said the assembly, in collaboration with the United Nations and the Regional Co-coordinating Council (RCC), had established a grasscutter production project to assist People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHAs) engaged in employable activities through the acquisition of skills and knowledge on the project.
