Adankrangya protracted chieftaincy dispute ends

Adankragya (Ash) April 14 GNA- A protracted chieftaincy dispute that has dragged on for more than five years at Adankrangya near Bekwai in the Amansie East District, has ended with the nomination of a 47-year old Kumasi-based building contractor, Nana Akwasi Yeboah, as the new Omanhene of the Traditional Area.

The choice of a successor to the stool had been at the centre of a bitter dispute since the death of the late Omanhene, Nana Osei Adankrangya in 1999.

The impasse widened when the Queenmother, Nana Nyarko Afriyie also died later.

It took the initiative of Nana Kwame Amoako, the Kyidomhene and Regent of the town, who sought the intervention of chiefs like the Kokofu Samanhene, Okogyeasuo Dwumah Kuma Ankama II, to put an end to the dispute.
