Adaklu pledges co-operation with security agencies to investigate murder

Kumasi, Jan. 26, GNA – The Paramount Chief of Adaklu, Togbe Gbogbi Atsa V, has pledged to give the security agencies the needed support to unravel the mystery behind the murder of an unidentified white man in a forest near Adaklu Ahunda.

The people would fully co-operate with the state security to unmask the perpetrators and bring them to justice, he said. A press statement made available to the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi said the incident was not only unfortunate but gave cause for concern. Togbe Atsa said checks he had done showed all whites working and resident in the Adaklu Community were safe. Daily Guide in its Wednesday, January 20 edition, reported that the body of an unidentified white man, believed to be in his 50’s had been found in a supine position in a forest near Adaklu Ahunda on the Adaklu-Ho trunk road.

A rope was said to have been tied tightly around the neck, with a cut on his left arm and blood oozing from the nostrils and ears. The publication said there was suspicion among residents that the man might have been killed somewhere and the body dumped in the area as there was no sign of a struggle at the crime scene. The body had since been deposited at the Peki Government Hospital morgue while police investigations continued.
