Adaklu Anyigbe BECE results improve

Kpetoe (V/R), Oct 10, GNA – A total of 316 out of 579 candidates representing 54.5 percent who took part in the last Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Adaklu Anyigbe District have qualified to enter Senior High School (SHS).

A letter signed by the District Director of Ghana Education Service, Mr. Sam K. Tumaku, said the best aggregate for the district was 10.

The letter said Kpetoe Seventh Day Adventist JHS, which presented 24 candidates was, the only school in the district which got 100 percent thereby coming tops out of the 27 schools. They were followed by King Solomon International JHS, a private school that presented 42 candidates and 41 passed representing 97.6 percent and Adonkor JHS with 15 passes out of 16 candidates, representing 93.8 percent. Adaklu Have JHS presented 13 candidates out of which one candidate passed, representing 7.7 percent and took the last position in the district. Ziope JHS, which presented the highest number of candidates, took the sixth position when 44 out of the 65 candidates it presented passed representing 67.7 percent and Adaklu Hlihave JHS with the least number of candidates of seven took the 25th position with only one candidate passing, representing 14.3 percent. Mr. Tumaku said although the result was a slight improvement upon last year’s, it was not impressive. He said there was the need for support to organize School Performance Appraisal meetings involving all stakeholders and also to strengthen monitoring and supervision.
