Acting IGP is a member of NDC – AFAG

Director of Operations for pressure group, Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG), Abu Ramadan, has labeled the newly appointed acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) as staunch member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The group implied the acting IGP is a poodle of President Mahama who will only work to satisfy the hardliners in the NDC.

Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan officially took office as acting head of the Ghana Police Service on Monday succeeding Paul Tawiah Quaye, who attained his compulsory retirement age of 60.

Abu Ramadan hurled these aspersions on Citi FM in Accra on Tuesday.

“The rumour around is that Mr Alhassan is an ardent follower of the NDC and for that matter he is going to work to satisfy the party’s interest instead of all Ghanaians. He will definitely work to satisfy the person who appointed him and the party,” he intimated.

Abu Ramadan continued “he being in an acting position he will certainly want to satisfy the appointing authorities so that he will be made substantive IGP, for that matter, if we are not careful he might over do it that is why this group is concerned, but we are reminding him that we know where he comes from”.
