Achimota School Teacher Rapes Student

About two years ago, a teacher at the Aburi Girls Secondary School absconded after it had been found out that he had slept with many of the students.

This time round, another teacher has dragged the name of the teaching profession by raping a female student.

A Visual Arts teacher of the Achimota Secondary School, Mr. George Web, is alleged to have raped an S. S. S 3 student (name withheld) in his house.

According to a reliable source, the student went to the teacher’s house during prep time to get information on their mock examinations.

“When the girl entered the teacher’s house, he forced her into his bedroom and forcibly had sex with her”, the source said.

The source further stated that the girl informed her friends about the ordeal she went through in the teacher’s bedroom and later informed her parents.

The girl’s parents informed the school authorities on what had happened to their daughter and later reported to the Women and Juvenile Unit, (WAJU) of the Ghana Police Service.

The said teacher, Mr. George Web has been invited to WAJU and is being processed for court.

According to another source, Mr. Web has claimed that the girl willingly had sex with him and that there is nothing like rape.

He has since been discharged from his duties as a teacher till the case is determined at WAJU.

The victim has also been withdrawn from the boarding house by the school authorities.
