Acherensua chiefs root for Tweneboa-Kodua as DCE

The Acherensua Traditional Council has given its full backing to Frank Tweneboa-Kodua as Asutifi South District Chief Executive (DCE), saying he is the people’s choice.

The chiefs have accordingly made a plea to President John Dramani Mahama to nominate him for the position.

They said Tweneboa-Kodua had all it takes- positive attributes, requisite qualification and experience required of a DCE.

Nana Yaw Bonsu, Benkumhene of the traditional Area, told a news conference that emotions were already running high over widespread suspicion that an unseen hand somewhere was trying to manipulate things to block his nomination.

He said should that happen, it would not augur well for peace and that the chiefs would not be in a position to “control the anger of the youth and the attendant consequences”.

“We wish to make a final appeal to the government to listen to the people of Acherensua so as not to create any chaotic scenes in the district,” he added.

The chiefs appear to be articulating the sentiments of their people, who are nursing some bitterness over the non-selection of Acherensua as the District Capital of Asutifi South, one of the last districts to be created.
