Cape Coast Circuit Court “2” has granted bail in the sum of 16,000 Ghana cedis with eight sureties to a self-styled Tufuhen and seven others who conspired to cause harm, threat of death and destroying properties valued at the 16,000 Ghana cedis in Ajumako Tweikrom.
Kwaku Apayin, who claims to be the Tufuhen Tweikrom, Kobina Takyi and Kweku Atta farmers, Richard Bosompim, unemployed, Paulina Wood, Ekua Tabuah and two sons’ of Kobina Takyi, pleaded not guilty when they appeared before the court.
They will reappear before the court on March 27.
In August 2012 the accused persons mounted a barrier on the main road leading to the town (Tweikrom) assaulted people mostly family members of the Odikro, Nana Afrasi Brempong VII of the town who were coming to celebrate their annual Akwambo Festival.
The accused persons destroyed the stool house of the Odikro, his palace and threatened to kill him.
A report was made to the police and they were arrested.
