Accused attempts to escape from court

Ho, Aug 5, GNA – Kester Darkey, 23 who is standing trial at a Ho circuit court, on Tuesday failed in his attempt to escape from the Ho High Court premises.

Police on duty fired several warning shots before they arrested the accused.

The court deferred judgment to August 12 pending a fresh charge of attempted escape from lawful custody. The court entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf instead of his plea of guilty with explanation.

Darkey would appear before the court on August 8 to answer the fresh charge. 05 Aug. 03
