Accra mayor tours flood areas

The Greater Accra regional Minister, Ishmael Ashietey and the Mayor of Accra, Mohammed Nii Adjei Sowah on Friday embarked on a tour to familiarize themselves with the poor sanitation and drainage problems within the region.

Most of the areas they visited, work had already began with excavators clearing the choked gutters.

Some of the areas included Odawna, Circle and other flood prone areas in the capital.

According to the Mayor, with the support of the minister, he will seek funds to address flooding in the capital and ensure it becomes a thing of the past.

Adjei Sowah who was the Greater Accra regional secretary of the NPP was appointed by President Akufo-Addo and was on Thursday massively endorsed bymembers of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.

He replaces Alfred Oko Vanderpuije who is now the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North.
