The Mayor of Accra, Mohammed Adjei Sowah, has lent support to the maiden celebrations for market women in the region slated for Republic Day, 1st July, 2017.
The event which comes off at the Efua Sutherland Park in Accra is expected to be the largest gathering of market women in the Greater Accra Region.
The purpose of the celebration is to show the nation’s appreciation to its hardworking market women. In a letter to accept the invitation, the Metro Chief Executive indicated that the purpose of the celebrations falls in line with one of the key priorities of the Assembly, which is market transformation.
The Market Women’s Day Celebrations is an initiative of I-Media Advertising with Mucaase Foods Limited as the lead sponsor for the event. Other sponsors are GCB Bank Limited, Star MicroInsurance and Capital and More.
