Accra, July 31, GNA – One World Youth Project (OWYP), a sister

school programme worldwide for middle and high school students is to establish a community resource facility for the youth at the Buduburam refugee camp.

Ms. Jessica Rimington, President and Founder of OWYP said the project was to allow students to adequately prepare themselves for better performance in school examinations. Ms. Rimington announced this at a six-day youth summit in Accra, which brought together representatives of OWYP from Ethiopia, Tanzania, Nigeria, Morocco, Liberia and the Simber group in Accra.

The summit, under the theme: Meeting unique challenges with innovative solutions was organised in collaboration with RESPECT Ghana and aimed at creating a more knowledgeable, compassionate, skilled and understanding generation of global citizens while at the same time inspiring the youth to take effective action on the millennium development goals. The six-month project targets the youth in the Buduburam refugee settlement and its environs. The facility would have a library, a mini Internet caf=E9 and a training centre.

Miss Richlue O. Burphy, a member of OWYP said majority of Liberian youth in Budumburam did not have access to books, journals or a recreational facility to discuss issues affecting them. Batman Samini, a popular music star appealed to the media to report more on developmental news than the negative side of the youth.
