Accountant urges students to embrace science, mathematics

Ekumfi-Essarkyer, (C/R), Aug. 17, GNA – A professional accountant, Mr Kenneth Kerlley Essumang, has advised students in secondary schools to accept the challenge to study mathematics and science with uninterrupted courage and self-confidence.

Mr. Essumang, a former assembly member of the Mfantseman District Assembly, urged interested mathematics and science students to discard the notion that mathematics and science are difficult subjects to deal with.

What you have to maintain your minds always when dealing with any core subject is that: “what some people have been able to accomplish, they can also make it,” he further advised.

Addressing a group of mathematics and science students at Ekumfi Essarkyir on the two subjects, Mr Essumang also appealed to parents and guardians to do all they could to encourage their children to accept the challenge to study mathematics and science seriously. Mr Essumang appealed to the teachers to cultivate greater love, dedication and commitment for the profession to enable them to perform better in classrooms.

He also called on the Ministry of Education to equip public schools with adequate teaching aids to enhance the teaching and learning of mathematics and science. 17 Aug. 2003
