Accountant heats up Tamale North NDC race

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) primary in the Tamale North Constituency has taken a different twist altogether as seven candidates contest to get the nod to represent the incumbent party in 2016.

Among the contestants is MBA holder and part time lecturer Mohammed Kamal-Deen Alhassan.

The chartered accountant boasts of an enviable activity in the Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN) of the NDC.

A TEIN Secretary during his school days at Kumasi Polytechnic, Kamal-Deen Alhassan says: “I have been a window for the growth of the youth in not only the constituency but beyond in areas of education and self help projects.”

The Tamale North seat is currently held by an independent candidate, Alhassan Dahamani, who won the 2012 elections by beating NDC’s Alhaji Abubakari Sumani.

Alhaji Sumani is among the seven to contest the November 21 primaries.

The other contestants are radio morning show host Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini, Alhaji Nabila Mohammed, Mohammed Abdallah, Mohammed Abdul-Sallam and Dr Abdullai Salifu.
