Access Bank Supports Women

Women are being given the opportunity to develop and improve upon their economic conditions through a bouquet of financial services being offered by Access Bank.

These services include financial support for young female professionals, women with family as well as women entrepreneurs who need funding to expand their businesses.

Another aspect of the initiative is the Maternal Health Scheme, which offers a range of financial assistance for women to cater for their health needs.

Ms Josephine Eva Arthur, Head of the Women Banking Unit of Access Bank, at a press briefing in Accra, said the objective of the move was to empower women and make them less dependent on their male counterparts.

She said the support was in the form of concessionary loans which would be spread over a period to lessen the burden of payment.

Beneficiaries, she said, must be customers of the bank with a regular source of income.

She said the bank has also developed an online community platform where various interactions could take place to share experience, knowledge and for networking between women at various levels.
