Accept election results in good faith- Ahmadiyya Mission

Tema, Dec 8, GNA – The Greater Accra Regional Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Mission, Maulvi Raghib Zia Ul Haq on Monday, appealed to leaders of defeated parties to accept results of the 2008 presidential and parliamentary polls to ensure absolute peace.

Leading the Ahmadis in an open air prayers at Tema to mark the Eid-ul-Fitr, Maulvi Haq noted that, since only one person emerges a winner in every contest, it behoves on defeated leaders to publicly praise the winning party. This, he said, would portray the country’s good image to the outside world, who are watching us closely.

The Maulvi commended all presidential and parliamentary candidates for their sacrificial intention to serve the nation but where it had not been in their favour, there was the need to emulate the followers of Ibrahim, who paid homage to him after burying their differences. “They must pursue the course of peace, harmony and love, regardless of their religion and beliefs”, he said.
