Abusuapanyin and three others in police custody for attempted destoolment

Nana Kwabena Danso, Abusuapanyin of Paaboso Nkwanta and three elders of the town are in police custody at Bibiani in the Western Region for attempting to destool the chief of the town.

The complainant, Nana Kyem Kofi III, the chief of the town, reported to the Bibiani police that the Abusuapanyin and three elders of the town forcibly broke into the stool room and took away four sacred black stools belonging to the royal family.

Sources at the Western Regional Crime Office confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday.

The police mentioned the other accomplices to the alleged destoolment as Nana Yaw Benie, Obaapanyin Maame Badu and Obaapanyin Akosua Nkrumah.

The police said the suspects also slaughtered a sheep and poured libation to signify the destoolment of Nana kyem Kofi III.

The police are processing the suspects for court while investigations continue.
