Abuse the public purse and face my wrath – Akufo-Addo to gov’t officials

President Akufo-Addo has said individuals who are working under government should work at ensuring that they protect the public purse.

According to him, he is committed at fighting corruption by public officers which is detrimental to the growth of the country.

Addressing the Press in his first encounter after being in office for six months the President said “those who serve in my government must protect and not abuse the public purse”.

He indicated that the bill for the establishment of the Office of the Special Prosecutor is ready and will be sent to Parliament soon.

He therefore called on all individual both in and out of Parliament to have an interest in the law which will serve for the good of the country.

“We all in and out of Parliament should take an interest and help in the rapid passage of the Law that will serve us well.”
