President Akufo Addo says the reason why teachers issues which largely bother on money have not been properly dealt is simply due to the unprecedented abuse of state funds by those entrusted to manage them.
Speaking to the leadership of UTAG at the Flag Staff House during a call on the President to raise some issues they consider pertinent to the work of teachers, the President says he believes that if his government is able to purge the financial leakages that are in the Ghanaian system, many bodies such as UTAG can be taken care of better than the country is doing currently.
The President added that it cannot be the case that persons who are given the opportunity to manage the state’s purse cannot be held accountable for their actions and inactions.
