Absence of Fire-Tender affecting our work – Fire Officer

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), July 17, GNA – Mr. Emmanuel Sarfo, Dormaa District Fire Officer, has blamed the inability of the district fire station to control four fire outbreaks to the absence of a fire tender at Dormaa-Ahenkro.

He said the only fire tender at the station had been under repairs in Sunyani for sometime now.

The fire outbreaks caused considerable damage to property estimated at millions of cedis.

Mr. Sarfo speaking to the GNA said the problem was a source of worry to the fire personnel who are could not perform effectively. He expressed regret that people had been accusing them “as if the absence of the fire tender is a deliberate act”.

The fire officer appealed for restraint as efforts were being made to rectify the situation.
