Abrekum Queen mother presents uniforms to school children

Gomoa Abrekum (C/R), April 12, GNA – The Queen Mother of Gomoa Abrekum, Nana Ekua Otuwaa II, has presented 500 school uniforms valued at GHc700 to pupils in the District Assembly School at Gomoa Abrekum in the Central Region. Presenting the uniforms, which were solicited from Mrs. Virginia Weinstein, her friend in New Jersey, United States, Nana Otuwaa expressed the hope they would encourage the children to take their education serious. Nana Kobina Tabiel, Odikro of the town, appealed to parents to stop engaging their children in farming and fishing activities to the detriment of their education. Mr. Justice Adjei, headteacher of the school, thanked the Queen mother and her friend for coming to the aid of the children. Mr. Adjei said the school needs learning and teaching materials to enhance its academic work and called for assistance from other citizens in the area.
