Abosso youth renovate post office

Tarkwa, Jan 22, GNA – The Aboso Youth Association has renovated Aboso Post office at the cost of nine million cedis. Members of the association raised the money through voluntary contributions and the inauguration coincided with the second anniversary of the association.

Mr Daniel Opoku, the Wassa West District Manager of Ghana Post Company, said Ghana Post had not lost its relevance in communication in spite of the introduction of modern means of communication. Nana Kofi Kyei, chief of Abosso, commended the youth and urged them to remain united so they could achieve more for the community. He said Abosso, a historical town, should not be left out in the celebration of Ghana’s 50th independence anniversary.

“It is unfortunate that Abosso, the first town to have streetlights, now has no streetlight.”

Mr Ebenezer Sarpong, Chairman of the Abosso Youth Association, said one of the aims of the association was to complete a project every year. He said last year the association supplied five bedsteads and mattresses to the Abosso Community Clinic and this year the association would renovate a public toilet. 22 Jan 07
