Aboso clinic needs urgent assistance

Aboso (W/R), Aug. 24, GNA – Nana Kofi Kyei Baffoe, Chief of Aboso has called on the government and the Wassa West District Assembly to take an urgent look at the only clinic in the town and do something about it. He said the absence of a medical ward had compelled the management to keep both males and females in the same room.

“This situation makes it difficult for health personnel to administer quality service to patients’ he stressed.

Nana Baffoe hinted that, lack of accommodation for nurses was compounding the situation, since many of them commuted between Aboso and nearby towns to attend to the sick.

“This has become the norm and emergency cases are usually referred to the Tarkwa Government Hospital, since non of the nurses lives within the township’ he added.

The chief therefore, appealed to the Ghana Health Service (GHS), the District Assembly and other stakeholders to provide living quarters for medical personnel to make their work easier.
