Aboadze Thermal Plant Is Down

The Aboadze Thermal power plant is down and non-operation. There is total silence from the ministry of energy and authorities at the plant although all the five generators are out of action.

A freelance investigation revealed that since Saturday 2nd August 2003 none of the generators has been in service due to fuel shortage. A visit to the Head office did not solve the mystery, since none of the officials were prepared to talk.

.A source at Takoradi – the biggest city closest to the plant -said a tanker with fuel docked last Friday, but the crude oil it carried did not meet the required specification. It’s not known when the next consignment of fuel will arrive
