Aboabo residents defecate in the open

There is a looming cholera outbreak in the Kumasi suburb of Aboabo in the Ashanti region.

Residents are avoiding the use of public toilets and resorting to open defecation.

The Asokore-Mampong municipal Assembly has set up a taskforce to arrest residents engaging in the practice.

Ultimate FM’s Isaac Bediako justice who has been following the development reports that the authorities are baffled with the extent of impunity.

According to Bediako, the residents complain that the public toilets are unkept and often congested causing massive discomforts to patrons.

The authorities have reportedly threaten to sanction any individual seen defecating in the public henceforth.
