Residents of Aboabo No.3, a community within the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region, who represent the Aduana Clan of the Dormaa Traditional Council, are earnestly urging Dormaahene and the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, the traditional leader and guardian of their customs and traditions, to formally install the rightful heir to the esteemed Aduana stool, which has remained vacant for over two years following the demise of the Chief Barima Yeboah Kodie two years ago.
In an effort to express their dissatisfaction with the prolonged controversy surrounding the installation of the rightful successor to the Aduana stool, the residents of Aboabo No. 3 organized a peaceful demonstration in the streets of Aboabo No.3, clad in red to convey their grief to Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II.
Speaking on behalf of the concerned residents, Mr. Kwame Gyamfi Kumanin, a member of the Aduana Royal family, emphasized that the Aduana Royal family has historically adhered to established traditional procedures that ensure the peaceful installation of their rightful successor whenever the stool becomes vacant. He stressed that some kingmakers, driven by personal interests, seek to alter this tradition, hence the call for Osagyefo’s intervention to restore lasting peace. The residents believe that appointing the appropriate successor is crucial not only for preserving the cultural heritage of the Aduana stool but also for ensuring peace and unity among the people, thereby fostering development in the Aboabo No.3 community.
They expressed hope that Dormaahene will consider their appeal and make a decision that aligns with the ancestral traditions and values long upheld by their community.
Several residents who spoke with the news media expressed that they are appealing to Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II and the Queen Mother of the Dormaa Traditional Council to assist in selecting the appropriate individual for the stool. They noted that nearly the entire Aboabo No. 3 community strongly supports the selection and enstoolment of Mr. Johnson Asante as the Aduanahene and Chief of Aboabo No. 3, emphasizing their belief that he is the rightful heir to the stool and the individual capable of advancing the progress and development of Aboabo No. 3.
