Abirem Traditional Authority builds town roads

New Abirem, Sept 21, GNA – The Abirem Traditional Authority has started building roads in the town as part of measures to open up Abirem. The roads, covering two kilometres, would make it easy for vehicles to access homes, Nana Amo Kyeretwie I, Abiremhene, told the GNA in an interview.

Nana Kyeretwie said all those whose property such as kiosks and gardens would be affected should not be disturbed since the project was in the broader interest of all citizens. He appealed to the Ghana Water Company and the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) to collaborate to install water hydrants in the town. On unauthorized speed ramps on the main road in the town, Nana Kyeretwie said they damage vehicles and the road but added that the people were compelled to do it because of speeding vehicles that sometimes cause fatalities. He appealed to the Ghana High Way Authority to build proper speed ramps in the town. 21 Sept 09
