“Aben wo aha” in Parliament as Speaker re-marries

Accra, 30th July 199 – Mr Justice Daniel Francis Annan, Speaker of Parliament, says has re-married. The Speakers announcement on the floor, came as a surprise to members, who responded with thunderous approval with some screaming “Aben wo ha, aben wo ha”. He, however, did not mention the name of his lucky bride.

“Unfortunately I couldn’t find a partner within the confines of this chamber, though I am not sure there was an opening. We are at home and those of you, who want to verify for yourself are welcomed, especially the ladies”. “More babies! More babies!” Shouted some Backbenchers.

“Babies are out of order,” replied Mr Justice Annan, who turned 70 last year lost his wife three years ago.

Dr Kwebena Adjei, the Leader of the House and Mr J. H. Mensah, the Minority Leader took turns to congratulate the Speaker and wished him a blissful marriage. After which the House rose sine die.
