Abeka EP Church Choir celebrates 32nd anniversary

Accra, Oct. 19, GNA – An Evangelist of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church has called on Christians to open a new chapter by refraining from acts which hindered their spiritual growth and national development. He said Christians would be doing a disservice to the nation if they did not allow the teachings of Jesus Christ to reflect in their daily lives. Evangelist John Amenuvetor made the call at the 32nd anniversary celebration of the Abeka E.P. Church Choir in Accra on Sunday. The celebration was under the theme; “Newness in Christ, His example and Selfless Service”.

He attributed the country’s socio-economic woes to Christians’ rush for monetary gains instead of seeking their spiritual wellbeing. Evangelist Amenuvetor urged parents to instill in their children a sense of discipline worthy of emulation.

Frank Aryesen, Catechist of the Church, urged the youth to desist from the “Get-rich-quick” attitude and be addicted with the word of God which he said was the source of their spiritual and mental growth. He advised drivers to desist from driving under the influence of alcohol to protect life and properties.

Reverend Daniel Worlanyo, Leader of the Choir, said as part of activities marking the celebration, the choir had made several donations to some institutions and hospitals in the country. He said the choir had contributed to the projects being undertaken by the Church and would continue to support its growth and development. Rev. Worlanyo called on choristers to develop love for one another to promote peace and unity in their churches. 1
