Abass confirmed as DCE of Fanteakwa

Begoro (E/R), April 23, GNA – The Fanteakwa District Assembly on Wednesday confirmed the President’s nominee, Mr Fuseini Abass Sbaabe, a 43 year- old bilingual secretary, as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area. He polled 48 votes out of the 50 votes cast representing 96 per cent.

The Assembly has 54 members but 50 were present on the day of the confirmation. In a victory speech, Mr Sbaabe thanked members of the assembly and the people of Fanteakwa for the trust they have in him and pledged to do all he could to work with the people to ensure the development of the district. The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, advised the newly confirmed DCE to humble himself and live above reproach to enable him to earn the respect of the people. He appealed to members of the assembly to co-operate with the new DCE and give him the necessary support to ensure the development of the area.

Mr Ofosu- Ampofo reminded the Presiding Member of the Assembly, the Co-ordinating Director, and the Member of Parliament for the area and the new DCE that the district had been handed over to them and they would be expected to unite and co-operate with each other to ensure the fast development of the area.
