AASDA achieved 81 percent of revenue budgeted.

Juaso (Ash) Feb. 10, GNA- The Asante-Akim South District Assembly (AASDA) had by the end of October 2003, realised a revenue of 344.8 million cedis representing 81 per cent of what had been budgeted for last year.

Mr Mike Ataoque, District Co-ordinating Director of the assembly, who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency on Monday said the assembly budgeted for a total of 427 million cedis.

He explained that the assembly was able to collect 66.1 million cedis in rates, which represented 60 per cent of the budgeted amount of 110.9 million cedis, while revenue on lands was 102 million cedis out of budgeted amount of 75.3 million cedis exceeding the target by 36 per cent.

Mr Ataoque pointed out that revenue on lands was exceeded because a lot more on old lands rates that were not paid in the previous year were collected in 2003.

On fees and fines, a revenue of 102 million cedis being 84 per cent of budgeted amount of 121 million cedis were collected, while 60 million cedis was collected on licences which was 76 per cent out of 79 million cedis that was budgeted for.

Mr Ataoque said rent fetched the assembly 12 million cedis, which was 47 per cent of 25 million cedis budgeted for, while on miscellaneous, 4 million cedis was realised which is 22 per cent of a budgeted amount of 17 million cedis.

The assembly received 3.2 billion cedis for disbursement for the Common Fund, while HIPC fetched one billion cedis.
