The Ashanti Regional Minister, Samuel Sarpong has been accused of masterminding the confusion that occurred at the Regional Office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Monday.
There was Chaos at the ruling NDC office in the Ashanti Region after some angry looking NDC youth clashed.
The situation would have led to bloodshed, but for the timely intervention of the Kumasi Police.
Brogya Genfi, Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser of the NDC, in an interview on PEACE FM’s morning show Kokrookoo on Tuesday, accused the Regional Minister of being the ‘brain’ behind the confusion.
Even though he will not indicate why he is accusing Samuel Sarpong, Brogya Genfi said he (Regional Minister) cannot “exonerate himself from this”.
He has however described the confusion at the regional office as a ‘storm in a teacup’, adding, ‘everything is under control now’.
Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Minister has responded to the accusation.
A terse text message he sent to Kwami Sefa Kayi, host of the flagship programme on Tuesday read: “Kwame, I will not enter the gutters with Brogya Genfi. Thank you very much, Samuel Sarpong”.
