A new transport association formed

Kumasi, July 30, GNA – A new transport organisation, Redeemer Transport Union, which would operate mini buses to most parts of the country has been formed.

Mr Charles Owusu Bempah is the chairman of the new association and Mr Bernard Bempah Dadzie, who operates a company, EURO Cargo in Holland, is the brain behind the formation of the new transport organisation.

He said Mr Dadzie’s action was in response to the homecoming call by President John Agyekum Kufuor to Ghanaians resident abroad to invest in their motherland.

Mr Bempah said the new union would start operation by the end of August during which time it would have taken delivery of some vehicles and would operate from the Kejetia Terminal.

Initially, he said, the union would ply the Kumasi-Sunyani; Kumasi – Cape Coast; Kumasi- Techiman; Kumasi – Bibiani and Kumasi – Konongo routes and that the services would gradually be extended to other parts of the country where the union’s offices would be opened.

Mr Bempah said the Union’s doors were open to any transport owner or driver, who wished to join it and that the union would register with the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly’s Transport Union.
