Mr. Samuel Adu Poku, a Ghanaian-Canadian PhD graduate is the first receipient of the Arts Researchers and Teachers Society (ARTS) Award for Graduate Research in Arts Education for 2002. ARTS is a Special Interest Group affiliated with the Canadian Association of Curriculum Studies and the Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE), which are both national organizations of educational researchers. This is amazing news! The award recognizes his excellent dissertation. Adu Poku will receive his award at the upcoming CSSE conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia-Canada where he will also give a session on his dissertation.
Samuel Adu-Poku is currently an Assistant Professor (Art Education) at theYoungstown State University, Youngstown in Ohio-USA. He graduated from the University of British Columbia in Canada about two years ago.
