A device to help travellers in the hospitality industry meet their unlimited demand for internet connectivity services in and outside their hotel rooms has been launched.
The handy smartphone device also serve as a tailored travel guide for tourist and integrate with hotel services.
Mrs Catherine Afeku, the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, commended Tink Labs Limited, one of Hong Kong’s most successful start-up that revolutionises travel and tourism for providing the handy device.
She said it support the improvement of the industry and also create a means to use technology to advance the growth and development.
She commended Accra City Hotel, Tang Palace Hotel, Oak Plaza Hotel, Swiss Spirit Hotel and M Plaza Hotel for agreeing to sign-up for the service and urged other hotels to roll up to serve their customers better.
“It will also cut down on cost of travelling,” she added.
The device first of its kind in Africa provides enormous benefits to both the traveller and the partner hotel.
Mr Steven To, the Managing Director for Handy Africa, said the vision was to make travel in Africa as easy as going to London or Hong Kong.
He said handy was not only focused on helping hotel guests, it was also focused on how to make all hotels, which partner it, to increase revenue and stay ahead of competition by providing services that enriched visitor experience.
He said Ghana was chosen because it provided the perfect market because Ghanaians embraced new technologies and were always willing to experience new things.
Mr Kell Bakorkor, the West Africa Regional Manager of Handy, said since the deployment of the device with partner hotels, the company had reaped considerable interest from other potential partners.
