A concern citizen appeal for the opening of abandon toilet

Suhum, April 4, GNA – The twelve-seat KVIP place of convenience constructed by the Suhum Kraboa/Coaltar District Assembly 12 years ago is lying idle.

The toilet, built near the main Suhum market, was to replace the pit latrine that was constructed 30 years ago by the community. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency a member of the Suhum Concern Citizen Association, Mr Paul Yerenkyi, said it was unfortunate that the assembly had abandoned the toilet.

He said the current pit latrine near the market could not meet the demand of the people and long queues of people could be seen in front of the place and apart from that the building had been invaded by reptiles.

When the assemblyman for the area, Mr Thophilas Kwabena, confirmed the story and blamed the Electricity Company of Ghana at Suhum for failing to connect electricity to the toilet. 04 April 07
