Cocoa season opens Today

Buying of dried cocoa beans, this year, begins today, Friday, Oct 20, Ghana Cocoa Board has announced in Accra.

A statement signed by Mr John H. Newman, Chief Executive of the Board, said the producer price for a tonne of 16 bags is 3,475,000 cedis It said the price to be paid for 30 kilograms of grade one and two at all buying centres is 104,250. cedis per load.

Cocoa beans with naked ex-scale of 64 kilograms gross will be bought at 217,187.50 cedis, the statement added.
