Student drowns in waterfall

Hohoe, March 26, GNA – Kennedy Agbeko Adoboe, 25-year old student of the Ghana Secondary Senior High School (GHANASS) in Koforidua, Eastern Region got drowned in the Wli Waterfall in the Hohoe District during an Easter picnic last Monday.

Mr Daniel Ablodey, Hohoe District Police Commander told the Ghana News Agency that Adoboe drowned in the “plunge-pool”, area of the waterfall, demarcated with red tapes as a danger zone. He said the large number of revellers might have made it difficult for the “fall” guards to notice Agbeko’s predicament. Hohoe Hospital sources said, Adoboe was declared dead on arrival. Meanwhile, the deceased’s body is lying in the morgue for autopsy. 25 March 08
