Christians in Upper East Mark Easter

Bolgatanga, March 21, GNA – Christians in the Upper East Region marked Good Friday by taking solemn processions throughout the Municipality to signify the journey of Jesus Christ to Calvary, the venue of His crucifixion.

The Christians, dressed in red and black attires as a sign of mourning, finally converged at separate points and said a prayer before going back to their individual churches for worship. At the Ola Parish, Father James Ekudi asked Christians to practice the faith of Christ by sharing with the poor, sick and homeless. He said by so doing, Christians would be emulating the examples of Jesus Christ through which they would receive blessings from God. At the Fountain Gate Chapel, Reverend Alexander Adams explained that Christ sacrificed himself by using his blood to cleanse and save mankind from sin. He said Christians could also exhibit this example by making the Easter celebrations a period to forgive one another as no one was perfect. At the Sacred Heart Cathedral, the Assistant Cathedral Administrator, Christopher Adombila said God gave love to everybody irrespective of his status and entreated Christians to also show love to one another.
