Food Vendors without health certificate to be banned

Begoro (E/R), March 15, GNA – The Fanteakwa District Director of Education, Ms Mary Animwah has directed school heads and health co-coordinators to ban food vendors who had no valid health certificates from operating in their schools.

She also asked lady teachers selling confectionery in the schools to stop the practice, saying it contravened the Ghana Education Service policy.

Ms Animwah said this at a meeting with school heads and circuit supervisors of education at Begoro on Wednesday. She said the District Directorate of Education would conduct health screening of all food vendors in school premises in the district to ensure that only vendors with valid health certificates were allowed to operate.

She expressed concern about the inability of most teachers to implement new skills that they acquired at workshops in their schools. Ms Animwah asked circuit supervisors to monitor the progress of interventionist programmes under their jurisdiction. 15 Mar. 08
