Florida water, leaves cannot cure breast cancer

Koforidua, March 15, GNA- The Public Relations Officer of Breast Care International, a Kumasi based Non Governmental Organization(NGO), Mrs. Adwoa Afriyie Beliako has warned women that continuous poring of Florida water on their cancer infested breast or smearing of the infested breast with concoctions would not help them.

She therefore advised them to seek early medical treatment when they have breast cancer problem instead of relying on advice and prescriptions of people who have limited knowledge of the disease.

Mrs. Beliako was contributing to a talk on Breast Cancer and Hepatitis B organized by the Koforidua Polytechnic Branch of the Tertiary Students Confederacy of New Patriotic Party (TESCON) at Koforidua. As part of the programme, breast screening exercise was organized for the female students of the Polytechnic. Dr (Mrs) Beatrice Wiafe Addai, a specialist on breast pathology observed that, both men and women could suffer from breast cancer. She said there was no scientific prove that deodorants cause breast cancer but it is established that the body could react to some chemicals used in the manufacture of some deodorants.

Dr Wiafe Addai said scientific research was still going on to determine the real cause of breast cancers but it had been established that multiply infections of the breast could lead to breast cancer. She said women who allow their partners with infectious teeth to suck their breast could develop breast cancer as a result of the infection.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Kwadwo Afram-Asiedu expressed his appreciation of the desire of members of TESCON to seek more knowledge outside politics for their development.
