Otumfuo Educational Fund alive & kicking

Kumasi, March 12, GNA – The management of Shell Ghana Limited, on Wednesday donated a cheque for 10,000 dollars to the Otumfuo Educational Fund at a ceremony at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

The donation was part of the company’s efforts to meet its social responsibilities by contributing to the educational development of the country.

Mr. Lawrence Anuseh, Retail and Sales Manager of the Company, who presented the cheque, said education played a crucial role in the nation’s socio-economic development and urged other corporate bodies to invest in it.

He said such investment was crucial to equip the citizenry, especially the youth, with the relevant skills and knowledge needed to enhance their general well-being.

Mr. Anuseh commended Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, for initiating the fund and appealed to corporate organisations to contribute to the fund to enable it to achieve its aim. Nana Adusei Poku, Akyimpemhene, who received the cheque, commended the company for the gesture and said the money would be put to good use. 12 March 08
