Nduom pledges support for Zongo communities

Accra, March 8, GNA – Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, Flag bearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), on Saturday pledged the party’s commitment to bridge the gap between people living in the southern part of the country and those up north, promising that the interests of Zongo communities would be paramount.

Interacting with Zongo chiefs and the Muslim community at Kawukudi, Nima in Accra, Dr Nduom said the CPP believed in social justice and equitable distribution of wealth and should therefore be given the mandate to rule to prove their capabilities.

He noted that the party had included Zongo people in the party’s leadership to serve as their mouthpiece and therefore their interests would be fully represented.

He said the CPP had adopted a seven-year national development plan to respond to current needs of the economy and provide the needed transformation in terms of infrastructure, social amenities and other economic opportunities for those in Northern Ghana.

Dr Nduom said it was not true that he was a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) because he took an appointment under the NPP administration, instead he had always stood for the principles of the CPP, which believed in peace, unity and sharing. He urged the youth who had attained 18, to register and exercise their franchise come December, saying “The jobs and the development you want to see in the north would become a reality depending on whom you vote for. Vote for CPP and get hope for the future”.
