University Education delegation visits Asantehene

Winneba (C/R) March 4, GNA – A 13-member delegation from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), led by the Vice-chancellor, Prof. Akwasi Asabere-Ameyaw has paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia palace in Kumasi.

The delegation was accompanied by the Registrar of the University, Mr. C. Y. Akwaa-Mensah, and Prof. Steve Sobotie and Prof. Richard T. Awuah, Principals of Kumasi and Mampong campuses of the University, were at the palace to introduce the VC to the Asantehene. They were at the Manhyia palace to introduce the Vice Chancellor and also brief Otumfuo on the state of affairs at the University. Prof Asabere-Ameyaw expressed gratitude to the Asantehene for his continued support for quality education in Ghana and assured him of prudent management of the University. Prof. Asabere-Ameyaw said the two campuses at Kumasi and Mampong continued to register increases in students’ enrolment and appealed to the Otumfuo for access to his educational fund and also additional land for expansion.

The Asantehene advised management of the University to remain steadfast in its role in training good quality teachers. He assured the delegation of his preparedness to support effective delivery of quality educational in the country. 04 Mar. 08
