Ayisi Boateng picks forms to contest Subin primaries

Kumasi, March 3, GNA- Mr George Ayisi Boateng, a businessman based in Kumasi, on Monday picked nomination forms to apply to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries for the Subin constituency.

He is thus, the first person to pick nomination forms to contest alongside Mr S.K Boafo, Minister of Chieftaincy Affairs and Culture and current MP for the area, who had also declared his intention to contest the seat.

Mr Boateng, who is a member of the Tema Oil Refinery Board and a founding member of the NPP, told journalists that the decision to contest the primaries was in response to the persistent calls by prominent members of the party in the constituency to contest the seat. He said since 1996, some prominent people in the constituency asked him to contest the seat but he refused because he wanted to acquire experience.

Mr Boateng promised that he would undertake a clean electioneering campaign if given the node to contest the polls. Mr Ernest Manu, Subin NPP constituency secretary, called for decent campaigning, devoid of acrimony towards the primaries.
